In Qualcomm's Imaging R&D Group, we are seeking candidates for its ASIC design team in HsinChu city. The team develops new algorithm, programmable architecture and system for computer vision and image processing applications. The candidate is to act as part of the digital design team, own and implement a hardware system with large partitions of high-performance processor building blocks and SoC using hardware design tools. The job requires the following design skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years of Systems Engineering or related working experience, with related PCB design tool, e.g. (OrCAD)
  • 2+ years of experience working in highspeed interfacing systems (e.g., MIPI CSI-2/DSI-2, PCIE).
  • 2+ years of experience working in a large matrixed organization.
  • Work experience in a role on the planning and implementation of the complete system independently (Camera-related system is better).
  • Work experience in peripheral interface (e.g., UART, JTAG, I2C, QSPI)


Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies Systems knowledge and experience to research, design, develop, simulate, and/or validate systems-level software, hardware, architecture, and solutions while ensuring system-level requirements and standards are met.
  • Capability of coordinate closely with Board, FPC, Socket, or other vendors, ability to review schematics, debug electronic system.
  • Performs functional analysis to drive requirements and specifications and to define and align with standards for hardware and software.
  • Basic SI/PI concept is to reach the requirement of the performance on the high-speed interface.
  • Develops and analyzes system level design including requirements, interface definition, functional/performance definition, and implementation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
  • Good concept of component placement for the evaluation board and demonstration sample.


Level of Responsibility:

  • Disciplined and works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information. May require basic negotiation, influence, tact, etc.
  • Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions (e.g., is consulted by senior leadership to make key decisions).
  • Tasks require multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem-solving, and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively.
  • Analytical thinking combined with strong problem-solving abilities.
